The Dead Sea sits at the lowest point on Earth. Over thousands of years, minerals from surrounding mountains have washed into a body of water with no outlet — meaning nothing leaves. The mineral concentration at the bottom is unlike anything found in any other sea, lake, or ocean on the planet.
Our mud is sourced from the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea — a region with a longer history of mineral extraction and therapeutic use than any other. It is produced to cosmetic GMP standards in Jordan before it ever reaches our hands.
We don't source from secondary distributors. We don't use lab-synthesised mineral blends sold as “Dead Sea-inspired.” The mud in every jar is from the actual Dead Sea, Jordan.

Sea Silt (Dead Sea Mud)
From the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Contains a unique mineral complex of magnesium, calcium, potassium, and bromide. Draws impurities from pores, tightens the skin matrix, and bathes the skin in mineral-rich earth for ten minutes.
Source: Dead Sea, Jordan — produced to GMP standards
Bentonite, Kaolin
Two cosmetic clays blended with the sea silt in Jordan. Bentonite absorbs excess oil and gives the mask its drawing action; kaolin is the gentler clay — it polishes and smooths without stripping.

Niacinamide
At 5% — the concentration most studied in peer-reviewed dermatology literature — niacinamide inhibits melanin transfer to the skin surface, reduces sebum production, and upregulates ceramide synthesis to strengthen the skin barrier. Most published studies tested leave-on products, so we claim the ingredient and the concentration, not their numbers. Weighed and added by hand to every batch.

Sodium Hyaluronate
The stable salt form of hyaluronic acid — a humectant that binds many times its own weight in water. A single, well-understood form, added by hand to every batch to counterbalance the deep-cleansing clays, so skin comes out of the rinse hydrated rather than tight. Biotechnology-derived and vegan.

Allantoin
A well-known skin-conditioning compound that helps skin feel soothed and comfortable. It counterbalances the deep-cleansing pull of the mud, so skin feels calm rather than tight after rinsing.
Source: Part of the Jordanian mud base
Glycerin
A humectant that draws moisture toward the skin and holds it there. Works alongside sodium hyaluronate to prevent post-mask dryness and maintain a healthy moisture gradient. Added by hand to every batch.

Wash your face with your usual cleanser. Pat dry — do not rub. Slightly damp skin is fine. Remove any toner or serum before applying; the mud should sit directly on skin.
Use the spatula provided. Apply a smooth, even layer across the face, avoiding the eye area and lips. 2–3mm is enough. You will feel a light drawing sensation within the first 60 seconds — this is normal.
Set a timer. The mask will partially firm up but should not crack or flake. If it does, you applied too thin a layer. Do not leave on longer than 15 minutes — longer wear only dries the skin out, it does not deepen the effect.
Rinse with lukewarm water. Use gentle circular motions — the texture helps with light exfoliation. Finish with a cool rinse to close pores. Pat face dry.
Apply your regular moisturiser immediately after, while skin is still slightly damp — it locks in the hydration the mask leaves behind. Do not follow with a second cleanser or exfoliant on the same evening.
Normal to oily skin: 2–3 times per week. Dry or sensitive skin: start once per week and increase as tolerated. Do not use on the same day as other clay masks or strong exfoliants.
Storage: Keep lid closed. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Do not use a wet spatula inside the jar — introduce bacteria and you shorten the product life. Shelf life: 12 months unopened, 6 months after opening.
Yes — it comes from the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea and is produced to cosmetic GMP standards in Jordan. We do not use secondary distributors or lab-synthesised mineral blends labelled as "Dead Sea-derived." If you want to verify, email us at hello@lamsa.skin — we are happy to walk you through our sourcing.
5% is the concentration that appears most consistently in peer-reviewed dermatology literature for hyperpigmentation, sebum regulation, and barrier function. Below 2% the data is weak. Above 10%, some skin types experience temporary flushing. One honest note: most of that research studied leave-on products, not rinse-off masks — which is exactly why we use the full studied concentration rather than a token amount.
Start with a 24-hour patch test on your inner arm. If no reaction occurs, apply to the face once per week for the first two weeks, then increase frequency as tolerated. The formula contains no fragrance, no essential oils, and no alcohol — the most common sensitisers in skincare. However, "sensitive skin" covers a wide spectrum. If you have active rosacea, eczema, or a diagnosed skin condition, consult your dermatologist before use.
Do not use on the same evening as retinol or strong AHAs/BHAs. Both are exfoliating and the combination increases the risk of irritation and barrier disruption. On nights you use this mask, skip your exfoliating acids. Follow with a plain moisturiser and nothing actives.
Because we have not shipped to real customers yet. We are releasing a Founder Batch of 500 jars. When those people receive their orders and share feedback, we will post it here — unedited. We will not seed the page with reviews before that happens.
Yes. The formula contains no animal-derived ingredients. We do not test on animals at any stage of development, production, or quality assurance. Third-party cruelty-free certification is in progress — we will update this page when complete.
With twice-weekly use, a 100ml jar lasts approximately 8–10 weeks. Use the spatula rather than fingers to avoid introducing bacteria, which shortens the product life.
The formula contains no retinoids, salicylic acid, or ingredients on the common pregnancy-caution list. That said, we are not physicians. Consult your doctor or midwife before introducing any new skincare during pregnancy or while nursing.

We could have populated this page with five-star reviews written before a single jar shipped. We're not going to do that.
We made 500 jars for our Founder Batch — a small first release for people who want to use Lamsa early and share honest feedback. Good or bad. When those reviews come in, we will post them here, unedited.
If you want to be among the people whose skin and feedback shapes what we do next, this batch is for you.

Apply a small amount to the inner forearm. Leave for 10 minutes, then rinse. Wait 24 hours. If irritation, redness, burning, or swelling occurs, do not apply to the face. Discontinue use and consult a licensed dermatologist. If a reaction occurs on the face during use, rinse immediately with water.

Lamsa is a cosmetic mask, not a medical product, and we only make claims we can stand behind. Our Dead Sea mud base is produced to cosmetic GMP standards; every batch we hand-finish in New Jersey is checked for stability and pH.
We recommend a 24-hour patch test before first use. We do not call the product “dermatologist tested” or “clinically proven” — that language has to be earned, and we will only use it once it is.
